At the onset of the winter season, a condo building in Mississauga, Ontario, encountered a critical issue: the heating coil on their make-up air (MAU) unit was leaking and non-operational. This posed a significant challenge, as a reliable heating system is essential for resident comfort during the colder months.
The building’s contractor quickly identified the problem and reached out to CIMCO for a solution. Given that the MAU unit was only nine years old, replacing it entirely would have been both costly and unnecessary. CIMCO’s experts determined that the damper motor not being installed caused the coil to freeze as it is in the open position allowing cold air to come into the MUA.

Within six weeks of receiving the order, our team successfully removed and replaced the faulty coil in the mechanical room, completing the work before the cold weather set in. This timely intervention ensured that the building's heating system was fully operational when it was needed most.
By accurately diagnosing the issue and providing a targeted solution, CIMCO saved the customer significant expenses. Instead of replacing the entire MAU unit, the customer only needed to replace the coil and reconnect the piping. This efficient and cost-effective approach not only resolved the immediate problem but also extended the lifespan of the existing unit, providing long-term value to the condo building.
