CIMCO Refrigeration (CIMCO) has moved its head office to Burlington, Ontario, uniting its four offices in Toronto, Concord, Hamilton, and Mississauga into a new 55,600 ft² state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Located near major transportation corridors and educational institutions, the facility is strategically positioned to support CIMCO's future growth and workforce development while enhancing customer value.
The new CIMCO head office, situated on a 6-acre property, features 20,000 ft² of modern office space and 35,600 ft² of advanced manufacturing areas. The facility features dedicated zones for package assembly, warehousing, painting, finishing, sub-assembly and pre-fabrication, electrical panel fabrication, raw material cutting, and central operations, including sheet metal work. With a monthly welding throughput capacity of up to 10,000 inches and space for 160 modules simultaneously, the operation is supported by a skilled workforce of 50 team members, including 15 manufacturing engineers.
The Burlington facility maintains comprehensive industry certifications, including CSA B51, CSA B52, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.5 for piping systems. Its ASME-certified vessel shop and CSA/UL-certified electrical panel shop are complemented by ESA-approved package wiring, foam-in-place insulation, and 30 tons of craning capacity. Additionally, the facility can process carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper pipe up to 36" in diameter, along with structural steel up to 18" high section.
The facility was officially opened on September 22, 2022, marking CIMCO's 110-year anniversary, with Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony. This relocation from Toronto's Port Lands, where CIMCO operated for over a century, positions the company for continued growth while maintaining its commitment to customer service and manufacturing excellence.
“We are investing in the future of the company, and we are really pleased with the new building,” said Dave Malinauskas, President of CIMCO Refrigeration. “With improved accessibility and a better workflow comes additional value that will be passed on to the customer as well.”
